Small Biz on the Go

What is Small Biz on the Go?

Small Biz on the Go is a co-working program featured at the Hammond INnovation Center.  It is specially designed for small entrepreneurs still getting their businesses started or SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) companies.

Co-Workers pay a monthly fee for open use of the Hammond INnovation Center.  Amenities available to co-workers include use of the facility's high-speed wireless internet, limited clerical services, consulting services and other important business services supplied on a pay-as-you-go basis.  Co-workers can use the facility to meet with associates and clients and have a quiet place outside the home to work.

FAQ

Are there any contracts involved?
No, there are no contracts or obligations involved aside from the payment of the monthly subscription fee and pay-as-you-go services.  Your membership is valid from month to month until you decide to cancel.

What is supplied in the Co-Working Space?
The HIC supplies working space for the Co-Workers along with complementary coffee and the benefits listed.  Phones and computers are not available at this time.

How are the extra fees handled?
Pay-as-you-go services are billed as co-workers use the services and fees are due on the same day the service is received.

Can I use the HIC facility as my formal business address/location? Can I have my business mail sent there?
Unfortunately, Co-Workers may not have mail, faxes or phone messages sent to the incubator as the formal business address.  To utilize the incubator as a formal location, you must have a lease in one of our two tenant programs.  Faxes and calls may be directed to the incubator as long as the co-worker is available to receive them.

If my Co-Working subscription is terminated, can I still use incubator services?
You may continue to use services that are available to the general public such as consulting and workshops.  Discounts and specials no longer apply once your subscription terminates.  To prevent an unwanted termination of your subscription, we recommend that you opt for automatic credit card billing.

Am I obligated to take out a lease at the Hammond INnovation Center when I'm ready for office space?
No, Co-Workers are not obligated in any way to use the HIC as their future location.  However, if you are interested in doing so, we will be happy to work with you.

Business Incubation and How Co-Working Works for You!

Business incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services.  Typically, when a business enters the incubation process, a business plan is in place and the owners are ready to move forward with definitive commitments to the business. The Co-Working program provides certian business incubation services to pre-startup companies or firms that do not have the resources or ability to commit to a long term program.

Co-Workers are provided working space and specific incubator resources without requiring them to enter into a long term contract.  This will enable the owners to bring their business into the next stage and have the guidance and resources available during the typical business incubation process without having to make financial and legal commitments they may not be prepared to make at that time.
